Ed Sheeran was born in Halifax (United Kingdom, Scotland), on February 17th 1991. In his childhood, he was part of a choir. He started playing the cello, and some years later, his uncle offered him a guitar. When he was 11 years old, he attended a music show, and he realised that he wanted to make his living with music. That’s why two years later, when he was 13 years old, he released his first album, “The Orange Room”. He left  school when he was 16, to dedicate his life to music.

                     ♦  His Musical Career :

             In 2005, Ed Sheeran released a row of 5 EP*. They didn't  meet great success, but he didn't give up and his 2^nd album, “+”, was number 1 of the sales in the United Kingdom. He took part in some festivals, and in the UK Music Awards. His talent is now very appreciated all around the world.

In 2014, he releases “X”, a new album which contained songs such as “Photograph”, “Sing”, “Thinking out loud”… This album got an international success. He started to obtain more and more rewards.

                     ♦  The consecration :

        On December 13^th 2015, Ed Sheeran announced on Instagram that he would have a one-year break, without being active on social networks.

       One year later, on the same day, “/” was released. Immediately, the hits entitled “Shape of you” and “Castle on the hill” were on the radio.  Four million records of his album were released !!

             Today, Ed Sheeran is probably the most famous singer in the world, and when he announced that he would give a concert, it was sold out one hour later !

        Because of his story, his nationality, and his fame in Europe, we can say that Ed Sheeran plays an important part in the European Music.
