There are different spooky places in the world. In this article, we will speak about the Ballechin manor.

The Ballechin manor was built in 1806 where the Stewart family lived. It was in this house that Robert Stewart was born the same year. In 1825, he went to India. He came back 25 years later in 1850 with a rank of major. On his trip back, he returned to Ballechin that he had inherited 16 years before. He had developed strong beliefs during the 25 years he had spent in India. His only friend was his chambermaid, Sarah, who died mysteriously in his master's bedroom, in 1873, when she was 27 years old. This bedroom will become the most haunted room of the house.

The major Stewart loved dogs and particularly the black spaniel. He died in his manor in 1874 and was buried next to Sarah. His nephew inherited the manor and he killed all the dogs which lived in the manor, starting with the black spaniel! A short time after, the first paranormal phenomenon happened. John Stewart's wife, the niece of the major, was in her husband's office when she smelt the scent of a dog. Suddendly, she was hit by some invisible animal. The events succeded one after the other : strange noises, detonations…..

During the year 1878-1879, the situation was very strange so the governess left the manor. A Jesuit priest, Father Hayden, who had often housed in the Ballechin manor, met the governess and told her how he had slept in the two haunted bedrooms!

In January 1895, John Stewart was in the old office of the major with a colleague when they heard three strong voices. A short time after, Robert Stewart died in a road in London after he had been knocked over by some carriage.

In 1896, the manor was rented by a family for a one-year period. This family had to leave the house after eleven weeks, after they had heard a lot of knocks in the wall and the quarrels which seemed from beyond the grave. Some of them declared they had seen a ghost dressed with silk clothes. After, a girl was terrified, one night, then she heard noises of limping steps, walking around her bed. She slept in this bedroom, where the chambermaid had died in 1873.

When the Marquis heard about Ballechin, she went to the manor with two partners to lead an inquiry. The Marquis invited 35 people, in February, for a long stay. It began by strange noises, sounding like voices. Some people heard noises of steps whereas they were alone in a room. A nun was seen one day with a crucifix.

The manor was inhabited from 1932 to 1963, the day when it  was destroyed.
